Audi je 1977. god. predstavio model 100 Avant koji je formom bio sli\u010dan dana\u0161njem nasljedniku ali nije prona\u0161ao put do kupaca. Ostao je samo uspomena, a njegov naziv Avant vremenom je postao omiljen kao oznaka za karavanske izvedbe. Danas, kada nove klase nastaju i bude se kao nekad novi modeli u\u010dinila se odli\u010dna prilika za napraviti poveznicu sa starim modelom. Konkurencija je to u\u010dinila par godina prije, a Audi po dobrom starom receptu pusti prvi potez konkurentima, potom uvede svoj model koji uskoro zauzme tron najprodavanijeg u klasi. Stalni suparnici Mercedes i BMW su spremni, CLS druge generacije i BMW Gran Coupe koji uskoro sti\u017ee ali ovaj put i malo zanimljivija konkurencija, Porsche Panamera, Aston Martin Rapide i Jaguar XF. Prethodnica je novom\u00a0 modelu A6 s kojim dijeli platformu, a kojeg o\u010dekujemo na prolje\u0107e teku\u0107e godine. Koncept coupe-limuzine, osim dojma apsolutne elegancije, osigurava odli\u010dnu aerodinamiku, \u0161to je posebice va\u017eno kod velikih brzina gdje A7 ima pomo\u0107 stra\u017enjeg krilca koje se aktivira na ve\u0107im brzinama \u010dime osigurava bolju stabilnost i poja\u010dava osje\u0107aj vo\u017enje sportskog automobila. Krilce se automatski otvara pri brzini od 130 km\/h, te se ponovno uvla\u010di pri brzini od 80 km\/h. Dimenzijama od 497 i \u0161irinom od 187 centimetara jedan je od ve\u0107ih u klasi iako u\u017eivo ne ostavlja takav dojam. O dizajnu automobila je uvijek te\u0161ko govoriti ali kada ispred sebe imate duga\u010dku coupe limuzinu sa kratkim prevjesima, niskom bo\u010dnom siluetom i vrata bez okvira za staklo onda je te\u0161ko biti ravnodu\u0161an. Oni koji su prigovarali pretrpanosti centralne konzole raznim funkcijama sada nemaju prostora za kritike. A7 u unutra\u0161njosti kombinira novu razinu tehni\u010dke inteligencije s logi\u010dnom ergonomijom i besprijekornim funkcioniranjem. Operativni sustav MMI sa naredbom za pristup sredi\u0161njem izborniku i manjim brojem tipki dolazi u osnovnoj opremi, dok je jedna od opcija novi Head-up display, zaslon koji najva\u017enije informacije projicira na vjetrobransko staklo. Iako je automobil dug gotovo pet metara postojala je opasnost od smanjenog prostora na stra\u017enjoj klupi zbog niske bo\u010dne siluete ali prostora za brigu nema. Na stra\u017enjoj klupi udobno \u0107e se smjestiti osobe do 190 cm visine bez ve\u0107ih problema. Jako je zanimljiv podatak o obujmu prtlja\u017enika u jednom automobilu koji nosi prefiks \u201esportski\u201c. Njegova zapremina iznosi\u00a0 535 litara i pro\u0161iriva je na 1.390 kad se preklope nasloni stra\u017enjih sjedala. A7 Sportback \u0107e biti dostupan s \u010detiri motora V6 konstrukcije. Svi su opremljeni direktnim ubrizgavanjem, stop-start funkcijom i regenerativnim ko\u010denjem. Benzinske izvedbe su 2,8 FSI sa 204 KS i 280 Nm i 3,0 TFSI sa 300 KS i 440 Nm. Oba motora dostupna su sa 7-stupanjskim S-tronic mjenja\u010dem i Quattro pogonom. Dieseli nose oznaku 3.0 TDI s dvije razine snage, 204 KS i 450 Nm i 245 KS i 500 Nm, ovisno da li se radi o modelu s pogonom na prednje (CVT mjenja\u010d) ili sve kota\u010de (S-tronic mjenja\u010d). Pored sustava ozvu\u010denja Bose, jedna od opcija za najvi\u0161e klase opreme je i sustav ozvu\u010denja Bang &#038; Olufsen Advanced Sound System snage 1.300 watta, s 15 zvu\u010dnika. Zanimljiv je i Night vision sustav koji \u0107e pomo\u0107i boljoj vidljivosti po no\u0107i. U najvi\u0161oj klasi opreme su LED prednja svjetla s mehanizmom za duga svjetla koji automatski prebacuje izme\u0111u dugih i kratkih svjetala. Audi nudi i brojne atraktivne tehnologije za \u0161asiju.
